Time adds weight to projects. The real problem with procrastinating isn’t that you get something done at the last minute. The real problem is that projects have the illusion of being harder the longer you wait to start them. In other words, time adds weight to projects. It makes them feel heavier than they are. The mental load is a very real thing. So, my suggestion is when a project comes along, particularly one which will take you less than an hour, knock it out immediately. You will not only save the mental load, but you will save time in not having to plan when to work on the project. Bottom line, if you can, knock things out immediately. A last note on this, don’t forget to make time every day for what Cal Newport calls “deep work.”
